1 - When you leave the Abyssal Fortress for the last time, you'll witness a movie of Melissan absorbing Bhaal's essence, after which you'll be placed here face-to-face with her. She'll entertain you with a small amount of dialogue, then unleash herself upon your party with the aid of some Abyssal fiends. Concentrate on Melissan, because once she's reduced to a certain amoount of health, she will jump back into the essence to gain more power and her summoned creatures will disappear. After defeating her for the first time, head to area #2 to cut off some of the essence from reaching her. Once you've done this, you'll be brought back here to do battle with her again. This time, she's even more powerful and will once again summon Abyssal fiends to her aid. As with last time, concentrate on her until she jumps back into the funnel of Bhaal's essence, then head to area #3 to cut more off. Your third battle with Melissan should be more difficult than the previous, but the idea is the same: reduce her to a certain amount of health and she jumps into the essence. Your last obstacle is at area #4, where you must cut off the final supply of Bhaal's essence flowing into Melissan. This will result in the *final* battle with Melissan, and she is once again more powerful than the previous battles. If you have any troubles with defeating Melissan, refer to our Strategy Guides section. On her last defeat, the Solar will appear and tell her that her quest for godhood is over and offer your character two choices. Either you can allow Bhaal's essence to be destroyed, thus sealing the fact that he will never return... *or* you can absorb the essence and ascend into godhood. This decision is entirely up to you and makes for a great ending either way. Congratulations on finishing what is (and will be) considered one of the finest RPG series ever created! 2 - After you've defeated Melissan for the first time, you'll need to visit this area to defeat Yan-C-Bin, the Prince of Air, and his air elemental pawns. Once defeated, click on the small green pool in the center of the platform to cut off some of the essence from reaching Melissan. This will result in another battle with Melissan at area #1. 3 - With Melissan's second defeat, you'll need to visit this area to kill Cryomax, the Prince of Ice, and his pawns of frost. Once defeated, click on the small green pool in the center of the platform to cut off some of the essence from reaching Melissan. This will result in your third battle with Melissan at area #1. 4 - After Melissan's third defeat, you'll need to visit this area to defeat a Fallen Solar and several Abyssal fiends. Once defeated, click on the small green pool in the center of the platform to cut off the remaining essence from reaching Melissan. This will result in fourth and final battle with Melissan at area #1.
