1)
First place you encounter vampires, I used a strong force of pets to slay the vampires and avoid being
leveled drained.
2)
Use the wooden stakes on the vampires to prevent them from rising back up. Simply move the mouse cursor
over the coffins and click twice.
3)
Here you meet with some other adventures that help you slay the vampires in this room. Drizt sends the
rest of his party back to the surface and follows you as an AI controlled helper. Also in this room is a
pool of blood that you clense with some holy water attained by the elves in Suldanssellar.
4)
Getting in this room is not easy as there is a swarm of vampires that come down the hall to block you. It
took me several attempts to even fight my way into this room. I'm unsure if the vampires were going and
regenerating after I vanquised them on my early attempts, but I finally used a slightly tricky tactic to
force my way into this room and kill the named vampires that reside in here. I took my best melee type,
Korgan, to a location just above 1) and staged him. The bulk of my party fought in the coridor between 3)
and 4). I rushed Korgan in to busy the named vampires and allow my main force to fight its way up and help
out. One thing to note is the protection from negative plane (level drain) only lasts 3 rounds. So instead
of wasting my time with that spell, I just memorized a lot of lessor restorations and used them periodically
throughout the battle to keep my meleers at optimal power.
5)
This room is full of undetectable, very powerful, spike traps. Use one strong party member to venture in and
pull the vampire mists to the rest of your party waiting safely in the hall just before the room. The pool
of blood contains a pair of very nice guantlets. The Guantlets of Weapon Expertise, THACO +1, Damage +2.
